To be Named....Narf
Interesting....this is the only word for my weekend. It was definitely a weekend where you either have to laugh lots or end up crying. Aimee and i laughed...a lot.
Friday, i left around 3pm for SBC and thought to myself 'self, the roads in the city are either dry or melty, the highway can't be that bad'. Alas, the highways were quite trecherous and the internet did in fact know the purpose behind the 'travel not recommended' listing. Good thing i left plenty of time to get there. I made it to the town of Stras. and found my intended grid road. Said grid road was even more brutal then the highway, only because i couldn't actually see the road. The snow was blowing over and blended in with the ditch. Okay, go slow, no problem. So, i turned. Now i had gotten confused between the short cut i was used to driving last summer and the directions for driving that i had along. I made a left turn apparently too early.....and hmm....big snow drifts. After making it through 4, i thought, hmmm going wrong way. Turn around, go through same drifts. Something is different. On last drift, start spinning out of control, slid left, slid right, whip around and.....thud. In the ditch...really in the ditch. Few more inches and on roof in ditch but still okay. Hmmm...no one around, storming, hope cell works. After repeatedly trying to call someone, i got through. Aimee and Dan(her boyfriend and my hero : ) ) came to me, after a half hour or so and Dan called his CAA. hurrah...so we waited in heated car for another hour for tow truck. Aimee notices t. truck plates....says NARF...hmm what better name for our trailer? Includes us both! haha. We drive very very carefully to trailer.
Turn up heat in trailer, start cleaning. Notice no hot water. Ugh, no shower for meeting with board members. No power to half of trailer and all furniture is in the middle of the room. Oh and the entire floor seems to be covered in fuzz.....wait no....Mouse terds!! oh lovely. After a very very long nite (being somewhat paranoid) i got out of bed. And realized that it was in fact good my room had no power the nite before....my carpet is full of terds.
Drive very very carefully to meeting. Feel gross. Am made fun off during meeting. Thanks guys. Did the same thing as previous program director. Aimee and i compared to person from last year, and everyone thinks we will be just as bad...wonderful.
Drive to Regina, almost hit ditch numerous times. Finally make it into city after driving 60 on highway. Drop off Aimee....and get to Jenn's. OH MY GOODNESS JENN'S AMAZING!! Let me tell you! She brings me in.washes my pretty jacket full of mud and says go have a hot shower i'm making supper. This girl is better then the Hilton!! Guest room, internet, breakfast, internet, cable, seriously people, amazing!
I had a wonderful time with Jenn. Went for lunch with her and her friends and had a ice cream party. Went for coffee and a movie-an expensive movie!! Ate really poorly, but balanced with pineapple and stayed an extra day due to highway issues.
Came home today...highway good to Chamberlain....then it was really scary. But i am home safe and only my hands hurt from gripping steering wheel. : )
