My Last Will and Test-i mean...
my last blog before i leave. I know how sad everyone will be with me leaving and not blogging for 3 weeks, but alas, i must go.
I had this whole really cool entry, and when i went to publish it, it disappeared-how disappointing.
So, i leave in approximately 14 hours. All my bags are packed, i'm ready to go....etc. whatever-i'm ready to go-well in terms of stuff. I'm a little anxious though God has done a good job of calming my fears-He's good that way. The verse in Philippians keeps coming to mind about not being anxious about anything but pray instead. Well, that's the main part anyway.
Apparently there is a good chance that i will be eating monkey-monkey should not be eaten-they should be watched on tv or in the zoo-and laughed at for entertainment purpose only. Oh well, such is life.
We leave tomorrow for Abbottsford for training and orientation. Learning skits, puppetry(heehee, they're giving us puppets!), and prolly some Spanish stuff as well. Then, on the 21st, we fly from Van. to Salt Lake City to Atlanta to Panama City and then to Chepo. In Chepo, we'll be doing some building stuff and prolly other stuff that i haven't heard yet. Next, we travel(by sturdy, leaking, dug out canoes with motors) to Maje-a jungle village where the Wounaan people live (Wow-none). There we will do stuff with stuff at a place and have fun doing whatever the stuff will be. They also speak Woumayo there-so that's another language besides Spanish to deal with.
The only issue i've been thinking about is that language barrier. I've been tring to learn Spanish since September, though i really haven't had the time or energy to put a whole lot of work into it. Instead of Spanish, French words seem to come to mind first because of all the classes i've taken. Although French and Spanish are similar, i don't know how much i'll get by with French. Though i think i'll look up the term for monkey...
