Fun Times with the Team

Lately i haven't been getting enough work. It's come to the point that i'm soo bored during the day because i'm home so often. Last month i worked almost everyday so i'm not sure what's going on. ugh.

Anyway, yesterday since i wasn't working, joined in with a bunch of other sr. high leaders to crochet and watch (oh slight embarrassment here) Dawsons Creek. We had a great time-ordered some food for us girls who were at lisa's early, tried to teach Heather some crocheting, learned how little patience Heather really has : ), had a short visit with Kevin and James after their lunch(Kevin a little surprised to see his leaders randomly getting together), and after Jon came(and Chandra later), we watched and criticised the show for 2hours-ish. Oh good times. And of course the 2 babes were there to play with. Nicholas is teething super bad, didn't realize how much until i looked at my hand and noticed a hickey. : )
Our team is more diverse this year compared to last year and there are more single people(thank you Lord!) It is no longer tamra and the married people with Chandra when she's in the country.

And now, i think i'm off to keep working at the mittens...who knew, u can crochet mittens-yeah! I've read my first pattern to make them. Oh to have a life again. : )

23rd Post Thingy

Everyone else was doing it....: ) The 5th line (and the 4th before it) from my 23rd blogger post are as such:

Too bad my garunteer(or whatever they are) voided my passport app. They had whited out their name because it was in the wrong spot.

All about passport worries before leaving for Panama last summer. Yippy. Crap, that doesn't help roadtrip fever at all.

Happy Turkey Weekend!

Even though my fam. doesn't really do a whole lot to celebrate thanksgiving anymore, i still really enjoy it. It's the time of year when the scenery isn't green but a whole whack of different wonderful colors. The season begins changing into cooler, cozier weather. I had read Amy's blog the other day about her happiness in wearing sweaters and coldness and i thought yuck. Now, i realize how much i like living somewhere that you can watch the seasons change every year. If i could stay inside when it gets to -40, i would like it even more, but hey-we're hardy here on the prairies. : )

Things that i am thankful for:

1. having a warm place to live and a family that cares (even more thankful after the schools i've worked in)
2. to be able to worship freely without persecution
3. that i live somewhere not affected by raging fires, hurricanes or earthquakes (yes tornados and frigid cold...but it somehow seems the lesser evil)
4. that i have some wonderful friends
5. i have a car which works...most of the time
6. As of this weekend i'm back on more regular payroll
7. I have a job where i can decide when and where i want to work
8. Apart from random bronchitis, i am healthy
9. for my singleness (which i may not want for forever, but am quite content currently : ) )
10. For all the blessings God has given me, even though i have deserved none

So, i made a kid cry today...

It no longer phases me when i make a kid at school cry anymore. Seriously, i think parents these days are raising pansies. I told a kid not to use hands when playing soccer b/c he wasn't the goalie, and he started to bawl-grade 4 boy bawling. wow. My kids-if and when- will be way tougher then the pansies i see in schools these days.

I have now worked 7 days in a row(of possible working days). 5 of those were from requests. And i apparently even missed 2 requests working at other request schools. Overall, i think this is a good start to my working year.

However, i don't think i'll be TA-ing forever. I really thought that this is what God had planned for me- You're a TA-go TA and prosper. Now, i'm beginning to think i won't be doing this for years on end like most of the people i meet in schools. As much as i enjoy it (at times), i think God may have some other plans yet too. haha...it's kind of like the annoying milk add...never stop growing. oi.

Happy note: my 3rd and now final cheque from the camp has arrivedd. YEAH!! I can finally survive again!! And a full tank of gas, not just with the $10 at a time kind of deal. : )
