Funny story

In grade one today, we talked about pets. The teacher asked the kids to raise their hand if they had a pet besides a cat or dog. She asked each what the pet was. After a number of rabbits, we came to answers like baby chicks, horses...and oh yes, a cow. I realize this may only be funny since i am in fact a city girl but really, this is the first time a kid has answered i have a pet cow. It made my day, it really did. Only in small town where the school is 2 minutes away from cows.

I think i'll survive

Well, i made it through crazy stress week, and i think i'm good. I started the new job, and it's going well. Actually the teacher i work with is Kerri's sister-in-law, funny small menno world. The staff are super friendly and make a point to introduce themselves. I've had a little culture shock in going to the school, it's kinda funny. I've never worked in a place where parents value religion over whether or not their child does well academically before. Definitely interesting though. Tomorrow is picture day, nice gift, i was hoping i had missed it, but alas, no. I find myself being excited about odd aspects of being hired. I get keys to the school(heehee), i get a photocopy code, i'll have a computer code, i have a staff to bake for(hehe) AND i got to buy more school supplies...even a little mini drawer thing for my pens and such. Yes, i get excited about odd things.
The kids are great. i'm in grade 1 and right now there isn't a 'designated' student for me, so i help the class. I read a story on Friday. : ) Basically, i feel like i'm getting paid to work in sunday school right now, with devotions, and memory verses but again, happy to be hired somewhere.
It's hard not to be frustrated when people keep getting full contracts around me...especially when they haven't subbed or had any experience. I know God has a plan that is likely different from other peoples, but still...workin' on the not frustrated aspect right now.

Jer. 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".

WHAAAAAA!!!

Ever feel like just screaming that? ha ya. This week is rather crazy for me. I went from working 1 day last week(which is kinda nice haha) to working everyday this week, 1 job interview, making 64 prize things for youth, starting youth, starting C&C(at EB), starting a new job and having to work for someone in a very unfriendly high school(never ever going to high school again)...i think that's it...man oh man. It's a little too much overload at this point. When i got a call at lakeview this morning where i've been subbing for 3 mornings about getting hired(sort of) at a school i wasn't even excited. I've been hired at VCA in Osler for a .6 position which means i work there every morning until 1215. I will still be subbing for stoon in the afternoons. I think i was so focused on wanting the full time position it may take awhile to be excited. I know it's a foot in the door and it's more then i had yesterday...but ya...too many things all at once i guess.
And really, i dislike high school....well, maybe just where i am...me and one of my students got into trouble today...grrr...

Hotness

Man i enjoy slurpees. Apparently i'm one of few girls who could really care less about chocolate. I would waaay rather have a slurpee...mmm...sweet wonderful slurpees. They make bad days at work better and are cooling after driving accross town in my baking car. mmm...wait, i guess it's a froster...i've changed from 7-11 to Mac's...better quality. I also really like nachos...but that's another post. haha...that concludes my post on slurpees.
