S-M-R-T

Mother of pearl. I look like i'm pregnant when i try to sit down. I'm not by the way. My back has been killing me for a couple of days due to overuse, lifting a bed/boxspring alone and a few other things. And everyday, i do other things that just make it worse. Like today, i went downstairs to work out and hmm...carpet new color....wait, that's the color of WET. sigh. Spent 1 hour sucking up water and the hose is made for vertically challenged people. I spent a lot of time kneeling in the water just so it wouldn't hurt my back...then i realized...oooh pilates ball has new benefit. It's the perfect height to sit on as i vacuum up water-hurrah, get rid of water and workout legs. haha. I then went and shoveled snow off the deck. i think it's time for that tylenol 3 and a hot bath. : )
You would think i should have been smart enough when i injured my back in the first place a few years ago, with a nasty first(and last) snowboarding experience but no. And i'm still paying....not quite worth it.

To be Named....Narf

Interesting....this is the only word for my weekend. It was definitely a weekend where you either have to laugh lots or end up crying. Aimee and i laughed...a lot.

Friday, i left around 3pm for SBC and thought to myself 'self, the roads in the city are either dry or melty, the highway can't be that bad'. Alas, the highways were quite trecherous and the internet did in fact know the purpose behind the 'travel not recommended' listing. Good thing i left plenty of time to get there. I made it to the town of Stras. and found my intended grid road. Said grid road was even more brutal then the highway, only because i couldn't actually see the road. The snow was blowing over and blended in with the ditch. Okay, go slow, no problem. So, i turned. Now i had gotten confused between the short cut i was used to driving last summer and the directions for driving that i had along. I made a left turn apparently too early.....and hmm....big snow drifts. After making it through 4, i thought, hmmm going wrong way. Turn around, go through same drifts. Something is different. On last drift, start spinning out of control, slid left, slid right, whip around and.....thud. In the ditch...really in the ditch. Few more inches and on roof in ditch but still okay. Hmmm...no one around, storming, hope cell works. After repeatedly trying to call someone, i got through. Aimee and Dan(her boyfriend and my hero : ) ) came to me, after a half hour or so and Dan called his CAA. hurrah...so we waited in heated car for another hour for tow truck. Aimee notices t. truck plates....says NARF...hmm what better name for our trailer? Includes us both! haha. We drive very very carefully to trailer.

Turn up heat in trailer, start cleaning. Notice no hot water. Ugh, no shower for meeting with board members. No power to half of trailer and all furniture is in the middle of the room. Oh and the entire floor seems to be covered in fuzz.....wait no....Mouse terds!! oh lovely. After a very very long nite (being somewhat paranoid) i got out of bed. And realized that it was in fact good my room had no power the nite before....my carpet is full of terds.

Drive very very carefully to meeting. Feel gross. Am made fun off during meeting. Thanks guys. Did the same thing as previous program director. Aimee and i compared to person from last year, and everyone thinks we will be just as bad...wonderful.

Drive to Regina, almost hit ditch numerous times. Finally make it into city after driving 60 on highway. Drop off Aimee....and get to Jenn's. OH MY GOODNESS JENN'S AMAZING!! Let me tell you! She brings me in.washes my pretty jacket full of mud and says go have a hot shower i'm making supper. This girl is better then the Hilton!! Guest room, internet, breakfast, internet, cable, seriously people, amazing!

I had a wonderful time with Jenn. Went for lunch with her and her friends and had a ice cream party. Went for coffee and a movie-an expensive movie!! Ate really poorly, but balanced with pineapple and stayed an extra day due to highway issues.

Came home today...highway good to Chamberlain....then it was really scary. But i am home safe and only my hands hurt from gripping steering wheel. : )

ta da

Today is the first day that i haven't had a work call in over 1.5 weeks. This is good. I have only worked schools that i've been requested to all month-only my 4 schools, which is nice. I can pretend i have a perm. job with those four schools this way. : ) So, being accustomed to being more useful during the day, i spent 3 hours cleaning. Serious cleaning. I moved furniture to clean under, washed floors, man alive...i may just be sore tomorrow.

On Friday i'm going to SBC (camp) to meet with Aimee, my co-program director and we're also going to a meeting with the board members and other people involved with the camp. I'm hoping they don't have an issue with me having a nose piercing....though after the last person having tattoos and large ear holes...i think i'll be fine.

I've decided that my new trailor home needs a name just as good as our bowler trailer-Buella...which i just found out means 'married'....haha oh funny...three very single girls living in a trailer meaning marriage. I'll have to find a name just as good for our larger trailer home. heehee how hickish....i'll be living in a trailer. :-D

My soon to be new home...sort of

This is where i'll be May-Aug. 2006 I'm uber close to a provincial park and many resort places, so if you are bored....: )

This is my redneck trailer home. I need to think of a name for it. Buela was our good ol' Bowler that 3 of us girls stayed in. I'll have to think of something. : )

This is the lodge. On the left are the boys rooms and bathroom, and on the right is...the girls side and bathroom. The middle front is a wonderful lounge area with big windows looking to the lake. (a camp with a real lake and no heated pool?!?!) The kitchen is on the other side, opposite the lounge. Basically and cross type thing. I'll show more pic's when i get there...things like the boathouse, craft shop and chapel....if it doesn't fall apart before i get there. haha oooh....exciting.
i'll also be staying at the lodge when campers arrive. hurrah.

My spectacular view. Oh to work and suntan at the same time! : )

Relief

So i realize i may not have been in the best of moods over the last week or so. Sorry about that folks. I had a bit of a health scare and was uber(heehee Helen...uber) worried. I was especially unsocial last nite...so if people were affecteed by my mood in the last week, sorry about that. Everything is fine though. I think God also must have knocked me out last nite. I had the most woderful sleep that i've had in awhile, especially with my back being in and out randomly. Yes, wonderful rest and much needed. I vow to in a better mood now.

It's also payday...hurrah. Now to last through a very long march....*sigh* the life of a sub. Apparently someone has been putting in a good word for me where needed...but we'll see when it actually comes down to it. Here's hopin' and prayin'.

I leave in 53 days for camp. To be honest i had second thoughts...mostly when i told my mom that i got the job and she raised questions about subbing and such. But i know it's where i'm supposed to be. I even told my dad, thinking he would be rather unhappy with my decision, but he wasn't. Funny how life can surprise you.

Yay!!

Okay!! So, i can finally post this with full assurances. I am now 'officially' a co-program director with another girl i applied with at Strasbourg Bible Camp. We have our start date and salary(ouch). The planning begins. : ) Hurrah! I'm really happy with how it worked out. I know this is truly where God wanted me to be. Even though it may screw my Educational Assistant thing over...though, i won't worry about that now....well, try not to. I'm such a planner it's hard not to get too ahead of myself. It's funny how when i decide to follow what i believe God wants, i get paid even more less then i thought possible. Oh well, God will provide. ...even if it means living at home til i'm 90 yr's old...sigh.

Now, i just wish i could sleep. I'm having issues with my back/neck again so besides being in pain, i'm not sleeping during the nite. How do u turn off your brain? Plus i think i heard on some program or other that if you have a headache, the likelihood of you getting decent sleep is lowered. sigh.

SO....if anyone has a free week in July.....and love being at the lake.....(or could drive a boat)....please please talk to me!! We need good staff! : )
